Um fabricante de a\u00e7o estava enfrentando falhas cont\u00ednuas de rolamentos em seu laminador a frio. Os engenheiros da NSK conduziram uma an\u00e1lise da aplica\u00e7\u00e3o e descobriram que as condi\u00e7\u00f5es operacionais altamente contaminadas estavam causando as falhas inesperadas. Isso resultou em paradas n\u00e3o planejadas onerosas e uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o nas taxas de produ\u00e7\u00e3o. Os rolamentos NSK STF, feitos de a\u00e7o Super-Tough longa vida, foram recomendados. O STF foi desenvolvido especificamente para combater a contamina\u00e7\u00e3o por detritos que entram no lubrificante. Ap\u00f3s um teste de funcionamento de quatro meses, os rolamentos foram devolvidos para inspe\u00e7\u00e3o. O laborat\u00f3rio encontrou uma vida residual entre 29 e 50 meses. At\u00e9 o momento, o cliente substituiu os rolamentos uma vez por ano durante a manuten\u00e7\u00e3o anual programada.<\/p>\n
