O tempo de inatividade foi em m\u00e9dia de 17 horas anuais a US$ 23.488 por hora devido \u00e0s m\u00e1quinas de levantamento pesado necess\u00e1rias, bem como pessoal de manuten\u00e7\u00e3o adicional. Os engenheiros da NSK realizaram an\u00e1lises nos rolamentos com defeito e identificaram que tanto o tipo de rolamento quanto o arranjo de veda\u00e7\u00e3o eram inadequados para a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o. A alta carga e a baixa velocidade da aplica\u00e7\u00e3o foram os principais fatores que afetaram o desempenho do rolamento. Um rolamento de rolos cil\u00edndricos vedados com v\u00e1rias carreiras (para roldanas de guindaste) era a solu\u00e7\u00e3o ideal.<\/p>\n
